While struggling to protect its territory from Japanese and German automobile giants of the domestic market, the luxury brand of American automaker Ford Motor Corp, Lincoln, looking for a ray of light in China, wrote online in China Daily.
Last week the company announced in Beijing that will export cars Lincoln China from the second half of 2014 Recruiting dealers will begin in the fourth quarter of this year.
Ford introduced the Lincoln MKZ concept car a media event in Beijing in late August. A mid-sized sedan and four-door debuts at the Detroit Automotive Show in January.
Version for mass production is expected to soon be released in the U.S. as part of Lincoln's plan for seven new or significantly upgraded models before end of 2014
The company declined to specify which models will be sold in China, but said they planned to meet local demand after two years with the introduction of features that meet customer preferences in the Asian country.
Although early Ford Lincoln will export to China, it is possible to be initiated and
locally in case of enough demand.
Lincoln currently sells about 100,000 vehicles worldwide, most of them are placed in the U.S. and a small number are exported to Middle East, South Korea and Mexico.
China will be the first major market for the company outside the U.S.. Last year, the country overtook Germany and took second place in the number of sales of luxury cars - about 980,000. Their number is expected to increase to 1.2 million this year.
China is the largest foreign market for luxury car brand Audi, BMW, Rolls Royce, Lamborghini, Bentley and among the three leading market for Jaguar Land Rover, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz and Ferrari.
